Our History: Hyperia has been at the forefront of the Internet revolution in Nigeria. Notable firsts include being Nigeria’s first Internet backbone service provider - set up to provide low cost, easy access to the Internet at a time when awareness of the Internet and its uses was on the increase.
Hyperia revolutionized internet access with the introduction and connection of multiple E1 circuits to its network using single national pilot access code of 15373, 01-2718575 and 2718191 for internet access. This number means that users can expect faster connections and download rates than before.
Other Achievements: In August 2002, Hyperia won one of the three Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) licenses awarded to operate data and voice services in Rivers State. The company has since installed and commissioned a state-of-the-art Point-of-Presence (PoP) in Port Harcourt. From the January 2007 we have lauched the first WiMAX network in Port Harcourt.
Technical Support: Customer satisfaction is crucial to us at Hyperia. In a country where the communications sector still faces major challenges, we aim to provide the best service possible. HYPERIA technical team works round the clock daily to give unlimited support to users. In August 17th 2002, Hyperia won one of the three Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) licenses auctioned by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to operate Data and Voice services within Rivers State. The Wireless infrastructure is based on the much-coveted 3.5 GHz frequency allocated to the FWA licenses; this will ensure that the problem of congestion, which has been an issue for other Wireless Internet Services Providers, will be a thing of the past. Hyperia's Unique Network Architecture
Hyperia's architecture is based on protocols employing the latest backbone switching gear and the acclaimed radio equipment. One of the most distinguishing features of the Hyperia Broadband Network is the decentralized nature of the backbone. Every Hyperia cell site is equipped with at least one full 10 Mbps that is directly connected to the international backbone of the Internet. |
